Providing Aid to the Poor Khmer People in Nhị Trường, Cầu Ngang, Trà Vinh - October 2, 2022

Yesterday was a long and tiring day because it was the start of our long trip with multiple purposes.  Leaving Saigon before daybreak, we arrived in Trà Vinh before noon.  After a quick lunch and a rest stop at Bà Hom Pond, we headed towards Nhị Trường commune to get the 100 gift packages ready for distribution.

Though we have experienced this dozens and dozens of times, watching the recipients, particularly the old folks, the handicapped or women with many children along their sides arrived and waited patiently before the gifts were passed out always brought up some emotion. But the rewards came when grins and smiles appeared on their faces on the way out.

Though the value each family received wasn't much, it represented the good wishes of many donors, and a lot of effort of volunteers who aim to share some burden these families are enduring.
